Mapping It

One of the handiest things that I’ve done for our wedding is created a personalized wedding map. While reading through the WB archives, I found a post by Mrs. Bee about a cool website called Wedding Mapper that let's you put all the locations for your wedding events in one spot. I visited the site and thought it would be a great addition to our wedding website.

As I recently updated my map with our venues, I noticed a great offer for personalized wedding maps to put with your invitations, which one of our other Bees blogged about here. While I know that many WB readers and the Bees themselves are DIY’ers, I am taking baby steps to get there. I’m going to take on the task of designing our own invitations, but the map intimidates me so I am seriously considering outsourcing this option.

On the Wedding Mapper site, there is now a new offer for a 10% discount on personalized wedding maps by Distinctive Directions if you already have a Wedding Mapper map that they can work with. You can pick your icons and fonts to match your invitations and they will send you a PDF for you to print however you would like. The prices are very reasonable and printing services are also offered by Distinctive Directions as well.

I have also recently found out that the Wedding Mapper website will be adding DIY wedding map instructions. Brides will be able to create a map on WeddingMapper.com and then use step-by-step instructions to make it look like a personalized wedding map to go with their invitations. There will be four different kinds of DIY wedding waps to choose from based on your style, skill level and time frame.

While I haven't decided between DIY or having someone do it for me, I can't wait to see how they simplify the map-making process! What are you all going to do about directing your guests around town?
